Explore how time is just passing movement, like bubbles on water, while the awareness noticing it all stays timeless and still.
Attention as contemplation
Attention is more around just a contemplation,
a looking with curiosity.
Just observe or notice the experience of the passage of time.
Where is it? What's it made of?
The sense of time, of movement.
And just assume that it's not what it seems to be.
There are assumptions.
These assumptions make the passage of time seem to be fundamental.
Bubbles on the surface
If you imagine the surface of water,
a freshly brewed cup of coffee,
or a glass with sparkling water.
It's like some bubbly, sort of this movement and activity.
Do these bubbles appear and pop and move and shift on the surface,
in maybe no particular direction?
The water, the bubbles come and go, but nothing really changes.
Noticing the sense of time
Just notice the sense of time,
the sense of this line of past, present, future.
And everything that's appearing seems to be moving in time.
Notice that all there is is change, movement,
and just like bubbles on the surface of a glass of water,
there's just this movement.
But the water, the water is timeless.
The background is timeless.
Appearances within the timeless
All of that: sounds, sensations,
thoughts,
memories,
imaginations, images,
just like bubbles appearing and popping
within the knowing of it, the background.
It's timeless.
Just keep noticing that distinction.
The appearances moving, shifting.
The notion of time appearing as the movement, the shifting, the changes.
That which notices is timeless.
Resting in presence
Assume that what appears is coming in time.
Just rest in the experience that there is only movement and change
on this realm of past, present, future.
There's only presence.
What appears moves and changes within you.
Let go fully of the notion of time.
Perhaps it doesn't feature.
Just for a moment, consider it to be unreal.
Just now.
Always now.
Timeless now.
Just the appearance of movement and change happening.
