As sensations, thoughts, and feelings come and go, rest in the quiet awareness that notices them and stays untouched by whatever passes through.
Everything is moving in the world.
The breath,
the sense of self,
everything is moving like waves.
Nothing remains still, only the emptiness.
There is no possibility nor need to hold on to anything,
as everything comes and goes.
The body is an ocean of sensations,
moving, shifting, changing, coming, going.
Sounds appear, disappear.
All of what we see is like a kaleidoscope, shifting, moving,
and all of the so-called inner world:
mind, imagination, memories, thoughts, dialogues,
all of it flickering, coming and going like a candle.
Beingness
And yet there is a sense of being this, here,
that is not related to the mind or the body nor anything.
Beingness is the mystery,
the unknowable, the undeniable.
Always this, always here.
Before the experience "I am a person, I am human,"
there is the experience "I am."
Before the experience "I am," there is just amness, beingness,
and the true I points to this.
Pain comes and goes,
fears come and go,
challenges come and go,
joys come and go,
but always the emptiness of beingness,
embracing it all.
Known by all,
not hidden,
not attainable,
just always here,
always real.
Indifferent but loving,
welcoming all but discerning.
Without dimensions, without time,
but knowing of time and knowing of dimensions.
And the breath comes and goes,
the universal experience,
all one field,
one kaleidoscope, moving, shifting.
The mind
Whatever the mind does, it is unimportant.
The fascination with thoughts fades.
The mind is a mirage, an optical illusion.
The love for what is real pervades.
Mind comes and goes;
what is real remains.
If you experience contraction with a fascination with thoughts,
don't fight it.
Don't attempt to pull away.
Allow that experience to continue.
Gently recognize that emptiness,
that beingness already here,
in spite of the mind,
in spite of the apparent contractions.
Discomfort and peace
If there is discomfort, struggle,
allow the possibility that it does not need to change
for peace, well-being to be known.
Peace is not the end of pain.
Freedom is not the end of pain or discomfort.
It is in spite of.
All that we fear is forms of pain.
When all forms are okay, there is no need to avoid.
All is welcome.
No taste, no flavor in the universal buffet is rejected.
This is not something to achieve.
This is something to recognize.
It is already the case.
Unaffected knowing
All struggles, fears and pains that have come
have also gone into this reality,
this beingness.
It is unaffected.
The knowing of pain is not in pain.
The knowing of fear is not in fear.
The knowing of discomfort is not in discomfort.
Fear, pain, discomfort, struggle come and go.
This knowingness remains unaffected.
All the heavens and hells of the mind come and go.
This beingness, knowingness, remains unaffected.
This is not achievable.
It is reality always.
Always has been,
always will be.
It can be denied,
or it can be realized and accepted as what is real.
The denial of this is suffering.
The recognition of this is peace.
Who am I?
In the way, there are only beliefs about oneself.
Who am I?
What am I?
What am I?
Am I nose, ears, eyes, body sensations?
Or am I the knowingness, beingness where those appear?
At every instant, that choice is available.
At every instant, freedom is.
At every instant, the absence of freedom is illusion.
