What We Are Is Not Located

Lo que somos no está ubicado

Gently notice the habit of feeling like someone in here, apart from everything out there, and find that nothing needs fixing.

What We Are Is Not Located

Notice that the body is not something that is fixed.
It's waves, waves of movement and sensation.

And then move with the breath,
staying attentive,
staying perfectly still.
Let there be subtle movements that go down to your feet with the breath,
as if it was like a waterbed.

Let the breath move your thorax, your belly,
your back,
your neck,
the position of your head,
your arms, your legs, your feet,
even if very slightly.

Noticing the tendency to lock

Notice the tendency to lock focus:
attention focusing on thoughts and a specific train of thinking, the body locking.
And in that focus, even the breath might lock, staying shallow or contracted.

The mapping of experience

At the level of perception,
of experience,
there is one fundamental illusion.
And it is supported by the habit and the thinking:
an experience of a mapping of what is happening,
a mapping of the space and yourself.

There are, for example,
sounds and sensations,
images.
The map reflects what the mind is saying.
These are words from the person.
These are sounds from birds.
The person is over there.
I am over here.
All of this.

It's not an inner dialogue.
It's quicker, a very fast interpretation,
but it is still thoughts.
All of it supporting a perspective,
a point of view.
I am here,
the rest is out there, over there.

It feels like absolute, total reality,
but it's an interpretation and it's an illusion.

What we are

What we are is not located.
It's not over here or in here.
It is not observing nor perceiving;
the perception is the perceiver.
The sound is the hearing.
Sensor and sensation are all the same.
The mind interprets the separation.

Without sound there is no hearer.
Without seeing there is no seer.
Without seeing there is just pure beingness, pure knowingness.
Boundless, without forms,
without shapes,
without parts, without location.

Then a thought appears, a sensation appears,
a sound appears.
Thinker, hearer, sensor is assumed and interpreted.
The thinker, the seer, the hearer is a thought.
It's just an interpretation.

There is empty, vast, infinite, boundless knowingness, beingness,
and a sensation appears.
Very quickly the assumption:
my sensation.
A sound appears, and quickly: I hear that sound.
A thought appears: I am thinking.
And the image of a person in the mind is assumed to be real,
assumed to be what I am.

Where the restlessness comes from

The longing and the craving,
the dissatisfaction,
the restlessness arise from this illusion.
A sense of being something small, contracted,
though we could never expand,
because we already are expanded.

Maybe the illusion of contraction can be seen,
a very deep and subtle illusion right now.
You're somewhere, located as a body or in a body,
experiencing something that is not you, out there.
This is assumed to be reality.
Look and see that it is interpretations,
assumptions.

Looking at the "me"

That which you refer to as me, in here,
is just an appearance of thoughts and sensations,
images.
The inner dialogue supposedly refers to a person.
The inner dialogue is just imagined sounds.
The image of the person is just colors and shapes.

All of the emotions reflect and form an I,
me,
mine.
Just imagined sensations.
All of the narrative and story and time is just memories,
which are just imagined colors and shapes and sounds.
All of it a constant, moving mental reflection,
imagination.
A kaleidoscope of forms,
always moving,
always shifting,
never stable.

Nothing needs to change

Nothing needs to change.
All of experience at any moment is perfect as it is.
What we are is already free.
Nothing is needed.

The sense of contraction,
the sense of longing,
something missing,
dissatisfaction,
the restlessness,
all of that is illusion.
To try to resolve it or shift it, change it, fix it,
clear it,
assumes the reality of it, which is false,
which propagates the illusion.

Noticing resistance

Notice any attachment to illusion
and a craving to not be free,
any resistance to reality,
to freedom.

Notice it with gentleness,
without judgment.
Notice it with a joyful curiosity,
playful,
like a child discovering something in a sandbox.

Nothing is wrong.
Nothing needs to change.
Just the recognition.
Aha.
Craving.
Resistance.

The seeing,
the recognizing is freedom itself:
seeing things for what they are.

Letting ideas go

All ideas and assumptions on meditation
and reality and spirituality and awakening,
all of it must go,
or simply be seen for what they are:
ideas and beliefs,
interpretations and assumptions,
nothing more.

Ideas, beliefs, assumptions on self,
what I am, who I am,
all must go, or be seen as what they are:
ideas and beliefs,
assumptions.
The assumption itself creates the sense of contraction,
dissatisfaction.

If what we are is vast,
empty,
infinite,
and we assume to be a point in space,
a thought,
a sensation,
the assumption is the sense of contraction.

Notice the craving and the tendency and the habit
to assume and contract into a thought, into sensations,
which propagates with the attempt of changing thoughts,
controlling thoughts,
controlling sensations.

Thoughts and sensations appear,
empty,
impermanent.
Things do not need to change.
