The Choice to Remember

La Decisión de Recordar

A reflection on elation and struggle, and the recognition that returning to joy is a choice available in each moment.

May I say something? I just thought it was brilliant, and so funny. The images of the laughing Buddha.

Yesterday I was talking to my daughter about my upcoming trip to Vancouver, and I reminded her of the time I came back from a trip to Whistler. I was so happy, I felt like hugging everybody, and she asked me, "Mama, are you on drugs?" We laughed about it. And then I realized: it is totally my choice to forget and to remember, to experience the elation and then to forget, and to struggle again. It is such drama.

Love the drama.

It is. I love it. Thank you for that.

We love the drama.

You are the grace

Sometimes teachers always speak of grace, and it can make it feel like another thing that comes to you from outside.

You are the grace. It is up to you.

You are the grace, yes. Thank you.

Takes no time

Let me close the session with a bastardized version of something Eckhart Tolle said. Somebody asked him, "Does it take time to wake up?" He said, "It takes all the time that it takes for you to realize it takes no time." That is just perfect.

Thank you all. I will see you next time. Have a lovely day.
